Hammersmith Islamic Association (HIA), a registered charity that is active in the Muslim community of West London, has been striving for the noble cause to establish an Islamic Centre in Hammersmith.
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) stated: "The lifespan of my Ummah is sixty to seventy years and rare indeed are those who live beyond that." He also noted that building a masjid represents enduring charity: "Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, even if it is as small as the nest of a sand grouse...Allah will build him a house in Paradise" (Sahih Muslim, Uthman Ibn Affan).
Despite London's Muslim population, there is no Masjid in Hammersmith, with the nearest Masjids being either Shepherds Bush or Parsons Green.
Join us for Jummah prayers every Friday from 12:30 to 13:00 at Hammersmith Quaker Meeting House, 30-32 Bradmore Park Rd, London W6 0DT. All are welcome.
We have raised £70,000 of our £100,000 target to secure a permanent Islamic Centre in Hammersmith. Please donate generously to help us reach our goal. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.
Muslims from the local community initially organised Friday congregational prayers. After successfully managing these, they recognised the need for permanent premises to establish five daily prayers and provide Quran Classes for the children, classes for both brothers and sisters, and also facilities especially during the Month of Ramadan.
With the grace of the Almighty Allah, we have achieved charitable status and launched our website. The primary challenge remains funds to secure adequate premises.
We have successfully raised £70,000 toward our goal of £100,000 which is the required deposit to secure a freehold property.
We aim to raise an additional £30,000 within one year. This will allow us to purchase a freehold property and establish a permanent Islamic Centre in Hammersmith for the benefit of the whole community.

The proposed property would provide an Islamic weekend school and meet the growing demand for Islamic education. The majority of children in our community attend secular schools and do not have the opportunity to learn about Islam and their obligations as Muslims. This is critical as good quality Islamic education is fundamental to the success of future generations.
The centre will provide facilities and services for sisters and mothers who are an essential part of the Muslim community.
The proposed premises would enable the Muslim community to establish their five daily prayers and would also provide a multi-function hall that will cater for various community events.
Islamic counselling provides a safe environment for individuals to obtain advice and guidance that is consistent with their faith. The need for Islamic family counselling is also growing.
Our youth represent the future and this centre would provide a range of much needed youth activities that are fun, educational and aid their development.
Integrating new Muslims into the community is a big challenge and with this dedicated facility we aim to meet this challenge.
The centre will promote physical activity and healthy living to enhance the lives of our community.
We are always looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our volunteer team.
By giving your time and skills, you will be helping us deliver our charitable mission — from supporting community events and educational programmes to assisting in welfare projects for those in need.
